How To Clean Your Vinyl Siding

How To Clean Your Vinyl Siding

Realtors say vinyl siding is a great home investment. Homebuyers like it because it looks nice and it really requires hardly any maintenance. Like anything else, overtime you will have to wash it, to return it to its original beauty.

So the big question is what’s the best way to clean it? Experts say, It will depend on what you are trying to remove from the siding. Typical house cleaners can be applied, allowed to sit and then rinsed off. More stubborn stains may require a little scrubbing before rinsing. If the siding is severely stained, a pressure washing may be necessary. It’s important that you become familiar with the pressure washer before using it.

Practice different pressure nozzles in an area that isn’t always seen. Start with lower pressure and continue to increase as needed. High-pressure water can leave marks, or even cut through vinyl siding if left in one place for too long, so keep the nozzle moving.

Be extremely careful when using a pressure washer from higher elevations or off of a ladder. The high pressure can knock you backwards. Use the proper safety procedures to prevent this from happening.

Soon, your siding will look like new again!
